CONNOR – Rita D. Worley, 69, passed away unexpectedly on November 21, 2023 in Caribou. She was born in Caribou, August 20, 1954 the daughter of Roland “Lou” and Evelyn (Gagnon) Thibodeau. Rita was a 1972 graduate of Caribou High School. On September 1, 1989 she married Bobbie D. Worley, and together they enjoyed 34 years of marriage. She worked for many years as a home health aide for Professional Home Nursing. Most recently she was the activities director for the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center, and for the Maine Veterans Home. She was a lifelong communicant of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and was a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle 638. Rita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband, Bobbie D. Worley, of Connor, her mother, Evelyn Thibodeau of Caribou, her daughters, Jeanetta McCarthy and husband Brendan of Portland, and Millie Arrowsmith and husband Chad of Sanford, grandchildren, Emma Bowden, Ethan Arrowsmith, great-granddaughter, Addison Bowden, sisters, Rena LaGasse and husband Mike, of East Millinocket, and Betty Roy and husband Claude of Maryville, TN, her Godson, Keith LaGasse, niece, Robin Theriault, nephew, Scott Roy, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Debbie Vecka and spouse Rene of Larkspur, CO, and Kevin Worley of Willow Springs, MO. Rita is also survived by many close friends, and an “adopted” grandson, Jason Lam. She was predeceased by her father, a brother, Jerry Thibodeau, her first husband and the father of her children, Byron St. Claire Doherty.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 2PM until 4PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
