CARIBOU and PRESQUE ISLE – Sirena S. Peterson-Whitten, 65, died October 3, 2023 at Caribou. She was born in Presque Isle, June 5, 1958. Sirena was a 1976 graduate of Caribou High School, and attended the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and studied at Chattanooga State. She married Thomas Whitten in 1994, and their careers kept them in the south for many years. She is survived by her husband Thomas, her mother, Velma, and step-father Gary St. Peter, brother, Leigh Peterson, and step-brother, Gary St. Peter Jr., mother-in-law, Frances Whitten, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and five special great nephews. Private family services will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in Sirena’s memory may do so through the Caribou Public Library, 30 High Street, Caribou, ME 04736.
