William C. Beil

LIMESTONE - William C. Beil, 80, (USAF CMSGT, Ret.) died April 1, 2022 in Portland, Maine after a short illness, he passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Valley City, North Dakota, February 11, 1942 the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Jones) Beil. He was a graduate of Valley City High School, and also earned his Master’s Degree from Emery-Riddle Aeronautical University. He retired from the United States Air Force as a CMSGT, in the office of personnel management. Following his retirement, he and his wife were self-employed long-haul truck drivers for many years. He also served as the Assistant Dean of the Northern Maine Community College at Loring. He married Amelia Edwards, April 14, 1984. William was actively involved with the Loring Air Museum as the President. He was a member of the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion in Caribou, the Air Force Sergeant’s Association, and a member of the former Loring Kiwanis Club. Surviving in addition to his wife of Limestone, are three children, Michelle Patten of Limestone, Michael and Sheila Beil of Baltimore, MD, Angie Waldorf of Sheridan, MI, and a daughter in-law Sheila Beil of Highland, IL. One brother Bruce and Melanie Nelson, of Tyler, TX, one sister, Rayma Fiegen of Valley City, ND, several grandchildren, including Melinda, Mallory, Mason Patten and Marissa Green who live nearby, several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Beil was predeceased by a son, Lynne. Graveside services with military honors will be held 1PM Friday, April 29, 2022 at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. A celebration of life and social gathering will be held the following day, Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 12 Noon until 4PM, at the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion in Caribou. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Loring Air Museum 101 Noyes Rd, Caribou, ME 04736.
