Viola M. Cochran

Caribou - Viola Marie Cochran passed away peacefully in Mars Hill at the age of 102 on June 14, 2025. She was born on October 29, 1922, in St. Francis, Maine. The fourth child out of eleven, and the eldest daughter of the late Gilbert and Rebecca (Blair) Pelletier. Viola was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and lived most of her life in Caribou. She worked at the Caribou Memorial Hospital, the Caribou Nursing home, and was a personal care assistant for several area families. She is survived by two daughters, Loraine and Sally, and their spouses; siblings, Bonnie, Judy, and Oneal; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She cherished regular visits from her grandchildren—they meant the world to her. Viola was especially close to two nieces, Brenda and Susan. Viola was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Cochran, brothers Roy, Donald, Theodore, Gilman, Frank, and sisters Myrtle and Gail. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou.
