Thelma C. Martin Morin, 95, passed away peacefully in September 3, 2022, in Canandaigua, NY. She was born January 29, 1927, and was a lifetime resident of Caribou. Preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Georgianna (Chalout) Levesque, her husbands, Lawrence L. Martin and Albert (Ted) Morin, sisters Alphena, Michaud, Lorina Wakem and brother Luc Levesque in addition to three of her children; Betty Anne, Richard J. And Michael A. Martin.
Thelma is survived by her sister Norma Turner, daughter Mary (Martin) and husband Mark Richmond and son Robert L. Martin. Her grandchildren include; Michele Martin, Melanie and Kyle Richmond, Jonathan Michael Martin as well as great grandchildren; Molly and Lily Capozzi, Ryan Richmond, Avery Martin and Marilyn and Parker Clayton, and multiple nieces and nephews.
As the last surviving member of the Class of 1944 from Caribou High School, Thelma received her RN degree at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Maine. In her distinguished career, Thelma was one of the two original nurses serving her community for Aroostook Home Health Care, assisting with the medical needs of many patients who were home bound. Thelma was an active member of the VFW auxiliary, Ladies of St Anne and Daughters if Isabella. In the Spring, Summer and Fall you could always find her tending to her gardens. Devoted to her family, serving up wonderful meals, camping and bowling with her friends was how she enjoyed life.
Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 23, 2022 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 2PM until 4PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10AM Monday, October 24, 2022 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, North Caribou. Following the service all are invited to a time of fellowship and refreshment at the V.F.W. Post 9389, Caribou.
