Caribou-Tammie Beth Ennis, 56 passed away unexpectedly January 28, 2017 at her Caribou residence of an apparent heart attack. She was born in Caribou March 3, 1960 the daughter of Gordon and Constance(Lyon) Ennis. Tammie was a 1978 graduate of Caribou High School and then received her Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. To help with college finances, Tammie began working at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Soon after that she went to work at Yusef’s Restaurant, not knowing at the time that would be her future. She loved her work, loved the people she met throughout the many years and many places she worked, and those people loved her in return. At one time, Tammie thought she would make use of her degree and accepted a position at the local radio station, WCXU, but she soon realized her real love was still waitressing and she returned to work at Yusef’s. In 1988 she decided to spread her wings and left for San Diego, CA. After a few years there, she moved back to New Hampshire. In 2009, Tammie returned to Caribou to be closer to her family and went to work at Jade Palace, again to renew old friendships and make new ones. Tammy was a very kind person and worried about everyone and wanted to help whomever, with whatever she could. She had a big heart and will be dearly missed by many and fondly remembered for the person she was. She is survived by her mother, Connie of Caribou, A sister, Terri Jennette and husband Mark of San Diego, CA., a brother Jack Casey and wife Linda of Richmond, Aunts and Uncles; Danny and Carolyn Ennis of Canada, Gary and Betty Ennis of Cumberland, Earl Ennis of California, Cheryl and Roger Sweet and Eileen Ennis of all of Bangor, Cyndy and David Lyon of Kennebunk, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tammy was predeceased by her father, Gordon, brother, Chris, grandparents; Louise and Lewis Ennis, and Claude and Helen Lyon, step grandfather, Joe Quimby and uncles David and John Lyon, and John, Ronald and Michael Ennis. The family wishes to thank all those people Tammie has come in contact with during her journey through life, who have been so kind to her. Special thanks to the Jade Palace for all the support they have given to Tammie these past years. A celebration of Tammie’s life will be held at the Evergreen cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her brother, at a time and date to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home, Caribou.
