Marilyn Anderson Swenson

September 1, 1930 — May 23, 2022

CARIBOU – Marilyn Anderson Swenson, 91, passed peacefully to her heavenly Father on May 23, 2022, at Russell Rehabilitation and Living Center in Auburn, Maine following a brief illness. She was born September 1, 1930, in Caribou, Maine.  The daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Johnston) Anderson.

After graduating from Caribou High School in 1947, Marilyn attended Westbrook Junior College. Starting off as high school sweethearts, Marilyn and Raymond D. Swenson, Jr. were married on August 6, 1949. For several years, Marilyn worked for General Adjustment Bureau in both Caribou and Presque Isle, Maine.  She was an active member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was in the Adult Choir for over 10 years.  Also served as a volunteer at Cary Memorial Hospital.  She was a longtime resident of Caribou, Maine, but spent the last three years of her life at Schooner Estates in Auburn Maine.  Marilyn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with her daughters and family. She enjoyed a full life with wonderful friends and a loving family. 

She is survived by her beloved three daughters; Donna and Art Bagnall of Vernon, CT, Kathy Castonguay of Livermore, Maine, and Lori and Jeff Gove of Las Vegas, Nevada; six grandchildren, Kimberly and Michael Daigle of CT, Kyle and Laura Bagnall of CT, James and Jeanette Castonguay, Jason and Alyssa Castonguay of MA, Alexis Gove and Brittany Gove of OK;  fifteen great grandchildren, Joshua Daigle, Jenessa Daigle, of CT;  Gavin Bagnall, Isabella Bagnall, Nathan Bagnall, Norah Bagnall of CT; Sofia Castonguay, Jack Castonguay, Brody Castonguay of MA; Matthew Castonguay, Benjamin Castonguay: Jeremiah Harris, Navaeh Harris, Isaiah Harris, and Azariah Harris of OK.  She is also survived by her dear Sisters in Law Mary Lee Anderson of Caribou, Maine and Judy Anderson of TN, several nieces, nephews, great nephews, and great nieces.

In addition to her late husband, Ray; she was predeceased by her brother, William J Anderson of Caribou, Maine and Frederick A Anderson of TN and a very special Sister-in-Law, Ruth Flynn of Milford, Maine. 

Married to her late husband, Raymond Swenson, the love of her life for 53 years.  Her family is comforted to know that she will be reunited with her beloved husband.  

At her request, a private graveside service will be held at a future date.
