Caribou – Jean M. Sutherland, 89, wife of the late John Sutherland, died August 16, 2021 at Caribou following a brief illness. She was born in Lille August 8, 1932 the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence (Shawb) Lavoie. Mrs. Sutherland was a long-time devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her children John Sutherland Jr. of Caribou, Claude Sutherland and wife Sherry of Presque Isle, Ann Popelka of Colorado, Tammy Sutherland of Caribou and Scott Sutherland and Charlene Shaw of Brunswick, 1 brother Wilfred Lavoie of Connecticut, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, including a special great-granddaughter Makanzie King who truly loved her gram and was there daily for Jean, several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sutherland is predeceased by her husband John in 1978, an infant daughter Gloria and her daughter Della Karchesky. Graveside services will be held 10 am Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from the New Holy Rosary Cemetery, Caribou, Maine, following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Holy Rosary Parish Center.
