Susan Espling

 Susan Marie Espling, 77, died May 28, 2026 at the Caribou Healthcare Center following a period of declining health. She was born in Washburn, June 15, 1948 the daughter of Harold and Viola (Gibson) Martin. Susan was a graduate of Washburn High School. On June 5, 1967 she married Ivan Espling, and she will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Susan was a member of the Perkins-Plourde Post 15 American Legion Auxiliary in Stockholm. She enjoyed cooking, crafting and knitting.

Susan is survived by her daughter, Leslie Wallace and husband Paul of Limestone, grandchildren, Dustin Wallace of West Virginia and Taylor Wallace of Texas, siblings, Linda Vaillancourt, Michael Martin and wife Jackie, all of Washburn, and Carroll Martin of Florida, many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Ivan Espling, a grandchild, Tanner Wallace, siblings, Roger Dale Martin, and Patsy Gamblin.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6PM – 8PM. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.
