Caribou – Galen Somers 75, died December 8, 2019 in Houlton. He was born in Caribou, March 14, 1944 the son of the late Arthur and Ida )Martin) Somers. Galen worked as barber, self-employed potato grower on the East Presque Isle Road for many years and more recently was employed by Ryder Truck Center in Presque Isle. He was married to the late Carolyn (Burden) Somers. He is survived by one son Timothy Somers of Fort Fairfield, two sisters, Marilyn Mirus of Florida and Natalie Undercolfer of New Hampshire. Mr. Somers was predeceased by his brothers Harold (Hussy) Somers and Lee Somers, a sister Beryl Hale, a grandson Thomas. Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Green Ridge Cemetery. Because of Galen’s love for animals, donations in his memory may be made to the Halfway Home Pet Rescue, PO Box 488, Caribou, Maine.
