Sheldon A. Espling

Caribou – Sheldon A. Espling, 69, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on May 22, 2023 at his Caribou residence surrounded by family. He was born in Caribou, April 16, 1954 the son of Carl and Anna (Strid) Espling. Sheldon was educated at the Woodland schools and was a graduate of Caribou High School where he served as vice-President of the FFA Chapter in 1971 and 1972. He worked for many years at New Sweden Service as a mechanic. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Woodland, serving as a Deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Darlene (Wardwell) Espling of Caribou, his daughters, Lyn Bubar of Presque Isle and Mindy Lagasse of New Sweden, siblings, Darrell, Clarence, Everett, Keith, James, Carline Warman, Arlene Johnston, Rosalind Gideon, Raylene Belanger, four grandchildren, Braden Lagasse, Cullen Lagasse,Viviana and Angel Bubar, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by siblings, Ivan, Justin, Virgal Espling and Nancy Corbin. 

Friends may visit with the family at First Baptist Church of Woodland on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 1PM until time of services which will be held at 2PM with Pastor Troy Heald and Reverend Ron Rosser officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery.
