Russell L. Chamberland, 54, died July 4, 2025 in Caribou surrounded by family following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Presque Isle, March 9, 1971. He attended Presque Isle, Easton and Caribou schools, graduating from Caribou High School in 1990. Russell then went on to earn his Boiler/Refrigeration Operator’s license and worked at McCain Foods for over 25 years. He enjoyed to outdoors especially camping, spending time by the campfire with the boys and family. He enjoyed riding the trails on his four-wheeler and side by side. He had a passion for playing the guitar and would often play with groups of friends.
Russell is survived by his partner of over 30 years, Christine Raymond, and their children, Desarae Marie Chamberland and Devon Jay Richard Chamberland, beloved grandchildren, Paityn Marie Libby and Degan Russell Chamberland, all of Caribou, his brothers, Toby Laggassie of Caribou, and Richard Murphy of Portland, half-siblings, Ryan, Katie, and Holly. He was predeceased by his mother and step-father who raised him, Leola and Richard Murphy, his birth father, Eric Simpson, and special friends Paul and Mark Plourde.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, July 11, 2025 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6PM until 8PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 11AM from the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date in the St. Theresa’s Catholic Cemetery, Stockholm.
