CARIBOU – Russell C. Gagnon, 76, passed away March 10, 2020 at home in Caribou, following a period of declining health. He was born in Caribou, May 12, 1943 the son of the late Ulrick and Leola (Beaupre) Gagnon. Russell was a 1964 graduate of Caribou High School, and was a self-employed eye glasses lab technician for 56 years, owning and operating Russ’s Lab in Caribou. He also owned and operated Russ’s TV Repair for a number of years. Russell taught stained glass classes at the Adult Ed in Caribou and Presque Isle for over 20 years. He was a lifelong member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he was active in Catholic Golden Age and the Seniority Club. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 52 years, Mary (Getchell) Gagnon, of Caribou, are their children, Troy (Loriann) Gagnon of Fort Fairfield, and Sherri-Lynn (Julia) Gagnon of Westmanland, 10 siblings, Claudia (Randolph) Bouchard of Fort Fairfield, Julie (Wayne) Buckley of Manchester, NH, Richard (Joanne) Gagnon of Rochester, NH, Darrell (Linda) Gagnon of Dover, FL, Sharon (Herman) Martin of Plainsfield, NH, Galen (Shelly) Gagnon of Portsmouth, NH, Steve (Cindy) Gagnon of Caribou, Leann (Paul) Manzer of Winston-Salem, NC, Jean (Kerry) LaValley of Sanbornton, NH, and Joan Auchterlonie of Concord, NH, 2 grandchildren, Melanie and Zoey Gagnon of Fort Fairfield, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 6pm to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am, Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be held following the Mass in the parish hall. Spring interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Those wishing to contribute in memory of Russell may do so through a charity of one’s choice – or do something kind for someone else in Russell’s memory.
