Rowena Cyr

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Rowena Gloria Cyr, 84, who died on July 5, 2026, in Branson, MO, with her family by her side. She was born in St. Agatha, March 27, 1942 the daughter of the late Sylvio and Jeannette (Pelletier) Thibeault. Rowena married Fernand Cyr on October 26, 1961 and together they shared 43 years of marriage before his death in 2005. Together they owned and operated Burger Boy in Caribou for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Rowena is survived by her children Deanna, Steve, Trina and Ryan (Jennifer) and daughter in law Rose Cyr; her grandchildren Deidra and David Levasseur, Shane and Leesha Cyr, Derrian Near, Daniel and Stetson Rocha and Morgan and Colin Cyr, and seven great-grandchildren.

She leaves behind her siblings: Jenny Bouchard (Eldon), Aldon (Rita), Carlene Cyr, Norma Pratt (Bob), Gaylen (Sally), Russell (Linda), James (Pat), Brian (Brenda), and Glenn (Lisa).

Rowena was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Fern Cyr; son Kenneth Cyr; grandchildren Sheena Cyr and Dean Levasseur and siblings Linda Thibeault, Greta Collin, Edward Thibeault and Ronald Thibeault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 31, 2026 at 11AM at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 34 Vaughn Street, Caribou. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the parish hall. Interment will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery at 1:30PM.
