Rosemary A. “Rosa” Piccolella, 77, died November 29, 2025 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle with her family by her side. She was born in Houlton, January 14, 1948 the daughter of Earl J. and Dorothy E. (Levasseur) Sowers. Rosemary attended Houlton and Presque Isle schools, graduating from Presque Isle High School in 1966. She then worked in the kitchen at The Aroostook Medical Center before attending the Pierre School of Hairdressing in Perth-Andover, graduating in 1987. Rosa then had her own hairdressing business, starting with one chair and growing the business into a multiple chair operation. She enjoyed flower gardening; feeding the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and admiring all furry creatures. She also enjoyed knitting scarves and mittens. She loved her family, friends and animals ferociously. She especially enjoyed anything shiny and sparkly.

Rosemary is survived by her 2 children, Paula D. (Boucher) Belanger, and James R. Boucher, her only grandchild, Allyssa Rose Ella Boucher and partner Kai Henderson of all Caribou, one uncle, Walter “Mickey” Levasseur and wife Maryann of St. Plaida, FL, special childhood friend, Terry Gregg of Presque Isle and her best friend, Gwen Ellinwood of Caribou, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rosa was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, Regis Boucher, her second husband, Joseph A. Piccollela, her twin brother, James “Rodney” Sowers, brother, David E Sowers and his wife Debi, a sister Lucille Sowers, a son-in-law, Wilmer A. Belanger, a nephew, Davey Sowers, and a great-nephew, Carter J. Sowers, several aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11AM on Friday, December 5, 2025 at the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 34 Vaughn Street, Caribou. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be held in the church hall. Spring interment will be at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.  The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Cary Medical Center ICU for the excellent care, and to the Aroostook House of Comfort and their caring and compassionate staff.
