Ronald J. Ruest

CARIBOU – Ronald Joseph Ruest, 73, died March 25, 2020 at Fort Kent following a period of declining health. He was born in Caribou, April 26, 1946 the son of the late Clovis and Marie (Dumas) Ruest. Ron was a graduate of Caribou High School, and was employed as the stock manager at Sleeper’s in Caribou for many years. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 53 years,  Brenda Wasson Ruest of Caribou, are his daughters, Sherry Mockler Young of Caribou, Rhonda Abercrombie and husband Spencer of Fort Worth, TX, and Michelle Hafford and husband Todd of Caribou, one brother, Roger “Archie” Ruest of Avoca, NY, one sister, Cecile Ruest of Caribou, his grandchildren, Amanda Pelkey and husband Josh, Mariah Mockler and fiancé Taylor Butler, Tylor Broome, his great-grandson, Camden Pelkey, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Ruest was predeceased by siblings, Malcom Ruest, Rita Ruest, Jeannette Johnston, Simone Whitehouse, and Leo Ruest. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Fairmont Cemetery, Presque Isle, at a date and time to be announced by the Mockler Funeral Home.
