Roland J. Cowett

June 16, 1948 — January 12, 2024

Caribou – Roland J. Cowett, 75, died January 12, 2024, at his Caribou residence surrounded by his loving family following a long illness.  He was born in Caribou, June 16, 1948, the son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Belanger) Cowett.  Roland was a 1967 graduate of Caribou High School and served with the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam.  He married Vicki Plourde, February 4, 1975.  Mr. Cowett was a lifetime member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  He was employed at Mecon Manufacturing for many years and more recently at North End Landscaping.  Roland loved spending time with his family and enjoyed many hours of woodworking and building things for others.  He was an avid gardener, enjoyed working outdoors and loved to go snowshoeing.

Surviving in addition to his wife of over 48 years, are his children: Joey Cowett and his wife Lindsey, Jenny Theriault and her partner John Pelletier Jr., all of Caribou. His four beloved grandchildren: Alya and Mia Theriault, Nolan Mattila, and Joseffa Cowett. One brother Fred Cowett of Southington, CT, four sisters: Lorraine Monteith, Josephine St. Peter both of Caribou, Dolores Morin of Glastonbury, CT., and Marlene Cowett of Caribou. Many nieces and nephews.  Mr. Cowett was predeceased by a brother, Clarence Cowett and a sister Patricia Chapman.  Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, 6-8 p.m., Friday, January 19, 2024.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 20th, 2024 at The Parish of the Precious Blood, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.  Following the service, all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Parish Hall.
