Robert "Bobby" Cyr, 87, died October 7, 2025 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Fort Kent, July 24, 1938 the son of Romeo and Ella (Gagnon) Cyr. Robert was a graduate of Fort Kent Community High School; he then served in the United States Army attached to the 1st Cavalry Division at Camp Hovey in the Korean theater of operations. Following his military service, he was employed with Pratt & Whitney Aircraft of West Hartford, CT. for several years before returning to Maine where he was married at St. Louis Catholic Church of Fort Kent, ME. He was employed in the retail business for many years, managing different department stores throughout Maine and New Hampshire. Following his retirement from retail, he pursued his passion for horses as a manager and horse trainer for 25 years at Rocking S Ranch in Fort Fairfield, working until the day he passed. Robert was a communicant of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Caribou.

Robert is survived by two sons, Christopher Cyr and wife Allison (Ayotte) Cyr of Van Buren, Douglas P. Cyr and Husband Andrew F. Maguire of Walnut Creek, California, Step-Grandson Skylar Paradis and partner Elizabeth McCrum of Presque Isle, one sister, Patricia Hoyt of Fort Kent, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is also survived by his former wife and the mother of his children with whom he still maintained a close relationship, Joyce M. (Albert) Cyr of Madawaska. He was predeceased by his parents, and by three siblings, Victor Cyr, Ethel Cyr and Doris Tardie.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, 37 Lombard Road, Caribou at 1PM.
