Caribou-Richard “Dick” Levesque Sr. 76 died August 25, 2010 at Caribou. He was born in Stockholm June 23, 1934 the son of the late Theodore and Odile (Roy) Bishop. Mr. Levesque served with the US Air Force in Okinawa during the Korean War and was a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW and also was a member of the Perkins Plourde Post #136 American Legion where he served as post commander as well as being a past county and district commander. He was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and had served as a lector at St Theresa’s Catholic Church for a number of years. Dick attended Hanson Barber School in Lewiston obtaining his barbers license in 1957. He was a self employed barber in Caribou for many years and was also a skilled craftsman and carpenter. He married Cecile Marie Albert December 29, 1955 and she predeceased him in 2001. Dick enjoyed playing guitar and organ and loved to dance. He attended many steak suppers at the American Legion and could always be found working on a project around his house. He is survived by two sons and a daughter in law: Claude Levesque of Palmyra and Richard and Vicki Levesque Jr. of Bangor. Two daughters and sons in law: Pearl and Randy Tysinger of Richmond, VA., and Ann and Raymond O’Donal of Eddington. One brother and sister in law Robert and Dee Levesque of Columbia S.C. Two sisters and brothers in law Pauline and George Pelletier of Caribou and Nancy and Reggie Clark of Fort Fairfield. His special companion Muriel Guerrette of St Agatha. Several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Friday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday August 28, 2010 from the Parish of the Precious Blood Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Aaron Damboise, officiating. Interment with military honors by the Stockholm American Legion will be in the New Holy Rosary Cemetery. Following the service all are invited to the Lister Knowlton Post VFW for a time of fellowship and refreshments.
