Reginald P. Bouchard, 75, passed away unexpectedly on May 7, 2025, in Caribou. He was born on April 17, 1950, in Caribou, the son of the late Joseph and Isabella (Chambers) Bouchard Sr.
Reg was a proud 1968 graduate of Caribou High School and a lifelong member of the community. He co-owned Bouchard’s Glass with his beloved twin brother, Robbie, and together they became known for their dependable service, skilled workmanship, and lasting ties to the Caribou community.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Reg found joy and peace in nature. Whether he was setting up camp in the North Maine Woods or casting a line into a quiet lake, he was most at home under the open sky. Those who knew him best will remember his easy laugh, his fierce loyalty to friends and family, and the way he lit up when sharing stories around a campfire.
Reg was a proud supporter of Caribou Vikings basketball and could often be found in the stands at most home games, cheering on his hometown team with quiet dedication.
Reg’s daughters have fond memories of time spent together, especially playing basketball in the driveway well after dark, challenging each other to games of HORSE under the porch light. He also shared his love of the outdoors with them, spending many summers camping as a family at Aroostook State Park. Later, he joined his daughters and family on camping trips to Moosehead Lake, continuing to enjoy the peacefulness of nature and time together around the campfire.
Reg was the proud “P” to his beloved grandchildren, Emery Hutchins and Quinnlyn Newcomb. Being their grandfather was one of the greatest joys of his life. He followed Emery’s college journey at Dickinson College with genuine interest and pride, always eager to hear about his experiences and accomplishments. With Quinn, he loved hearing about her latest sports and school updates, but what brought him the biggest smile was her joy in the water—he especially cherished hearing about her time swimming in the pool, a simple delight that made his heart full. He loved nothing more than sharing laughs, stories, and his wisdom with them.
He is survived by his daughters: Sarah Hutchins and husband Dana of Biddeford, Melissa Bouchard of Lisbon, and Rachel Newcomb and husband Alec of Windham; his grandchildren, Emery Hutchins and Quinnlyn Newcomb. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Karen Bouchard of Windham and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his siblings: two sisters, Mavis Gahagan and Adelia “Dolly” Bouchard, and six brothers, Joseph Bouchard Jr., , Dwayne Bouchard, Eugene Dale Bouchard, Richard “Dick” Bouchard, Gerry Bouchard and Robert Bouchard
At Reg’s request, there will be no services planned. His family encourages those who knew him to honor his memory in their own way—perhaps with a quiet walk in the woods, a good story shared among friends, or a moment of reflection at their favorite fishing spot.
