Rebecca Elaine Sutherland

Rebecca Elaine Sutherland, 75, died June 28, 2026 in Bangor following a period of declining health. She was born in Caribou, September 13, 1950 the daughter of Hayden and Shirley (Spear) Sutherland. She attended Woodland Consolidated School and was a 1969 graduate of Caribou High School. She went on to attend classes at the University of Maine at Fort Kent and subsequently worked her career at the Caribou Nursing Home as a CNA for over twenty-five years. Rebecca loved to read, listen to music, go to the movies, work on her puzzle books, and attend the many Sutherland family potluck picnics at the family camp on Madawaska Lake. She enjoyed growing up on the farm, especially having cats around and eventually her very own calico, “Gladys”.

Rebecca is survived by her siblings, Adelbert “Del” Sutherland of Little Madawaska Lake and his son Kyle and family, Brian Sutherland his wife Jane of Caribou and their son Taylor and family, Paul Sutherland and his wife Debbie of Madawaska Lake and their children, Logan and Gabbie. She is also survived by a very special aunt, Judi Greenier and cousins, Sallie St. Pierre and Sheila Pelletier.

Private family interment will be at the Webster Ward Cemetery, Limestone. Those who wish to contribute in memory of Becca are asked to do so through the Autism Society of Maine, 72B Main Street, Winthrop, Maine 04364.
