Raelene Joy Doherty, 67, died February 27, 2025 at her Caribou residence following a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Caribou, October 9, 1957 the daughter of Ralph and Barbara (Sullivan) Doherty. Raelene attended Rockville High School, in Rockville, Connecticut, and worked as a Certified Nurses Aide for many years. Raelene was affectionately known to many friends as “Aunty” and will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her mother, Barbara Doherty of Caribou, her children, Charles Jefferson, Jr. and partner Brittany Bender of Fort Covington, NY, Daniel Lindsay and wife Hope of David City, NB, Ryan Lindsay of Torrington, CT, Tywanna Jefferson of New York, Somer Lindsay of Torrington, CT, siblings, Bill Doherty of Buffalo, NY, Erwin Doherty of Presque Isle, Bernard Doherty of Branford, CT, Dale Doherty of Chester, VT, Millie Bouchard of Dupont, PA, Nancy J. Perry of Caribou, her cherished close friend, Dale L’Heureux of Torrington, CT, 18 grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. Raelene was predeceased by her father, a daughter, Dana Lindsay, siblings, Byron Doherty, Ronald Doherty, and Cheryl Kelly.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 2PM until time of services which will be held at 3PM with Pastor Michael Hood officiating. A time of continued fellowship and refreshments will be held following the service at the Caribou Assembly of God Activity Center. Spring interment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. Raelene had a special love for lions since she first watched “Born Free” in 1966. The family asks that you consider donating to the “Lion Recovery Fund” at http://lionrecoveryfund.org in lieu of flowers.
