Norma Ann LaMothe, 82 died January 6, 2026 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle following a brief illness. She was born in Caribou April 8, 1943 the daughter of the late Aurele and Bernice (Caron) St. Peter. She attended the Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Caribou High School. She was a lifelong faithful member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Norma married Claude LaMothe April 22, 1965 and he predeceased her November 7, 2025 after over 60 years of marriage. Norma was a loving and devoted wife, mother and memere.
Norma had a special way about her. She was never known for being quiet, she could talk for hours. One of her passions was playing cards, especially aggravation and Charlemagne. When she visited, all you had to do was get out a deck of cards then laughing and the teasing would begin. The list of people and places where she's played goes on and on. For the last several years she loved to do diamond art paintings. She loved to give them as gifts or just to give one to someone that she thought was special to her. She looked forward to weekly visits with her crew at McDonalds and for years every Wednesday she would go to the gathering in Presque Isle. This is where she and Claude would love to dance and listen to the music. She formed some very close friendships there, including Ann Murphy. Some of the other things that Norma enjoyed was watching the Celtics and the Red Sox. She also enjoyed doing latch hook rugs and loved to read.
She is survived by her sons Claude “Chip” LaMothe and wife Teresa, and Rick LaMothe and wife Heidi all of Caribou. Brothers and sisters: Patrick St. Peter and wife, Jean Marie, Richard “Dick” St. Peter and wife Elle, Linda Ala and predeceased husband Jack, Judy Gengler and husband Lyle, Lori Theriault and husband Roddy. Her grandchildren; Lance LaMothe, Derrick LaMothe and wife Sarah, Dylan LaMothe, Heather Cousins and husband Noah. Great grandchildren; Kayden, Lane, Otto and Derrick LaMothe II.
