June 24, 1965 — December 9, 2022

Presque Isle, Maine and Vesuvius, Virginia - Michael Fredric Stevens, 57, died unexpectedly on Friday, December 9, 2022 in Lexington, Virginia.  Mike was born in Presque Isle, on June 24, 1965 to Fredric and Margaret (Jones) Stevens.  Mike attended Presque Isle schools and then lived and worked in southern Maine for a while.  Though driving truck was his passion, when he moved out of state to North Carolina and Virginia, he ventured into other roles including limousine driver, transporting celebrities such as Elton John, Tom Petty, Reba McIntyre, and ZZ Top.  His most recent profession was driving a tow truck in Fairfield, VA, and he would occasionally talk about his towing adventures on Facebook.  Mike loved Nascar, music by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jamey Johnson, and his grandchildren.  Mike was very charming, always quick with a smile and a helping hand.

Mike is survived by his family in Maine: a daughter, Casey Lee (Baston) Smith of Winthrop, and his three grandchildren, Delilah, Lauren, and Maverick; two sisters, Carolyn (and Rodney) Lamoreau of Castle Hill and Janine (and Kenneth) Murchison of Caribou; two brothers, Lawrence (and Candice) Foster of Monticello and Steven (and Bonnie) Foster of Orient; several nieces and nephews, including Kristen (and David) Murphy (of Massachusetts), Jay (and Kelly) Lamoreau, Tammy (and Glen) Geisel, Tabetha (and Kevin) Tuttle, Christopher Foster, Tiffany Foster, Tricia (and Spencer) Bragan, Natalie (and Kyle) Stanley, Alyssa (and Ryan) Schools, Rachel (and Kyle) McPherson, Gregory (and Valerie) Foster, Samantha (and Dakota) Fox, and Alexander Murchison; and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law David and Patricia Foster, their oldest daughter, Lisa, and a great-niece, Caroline Tuttle.

He will be missed by his ‘honorary’ family and special friends in Virginia, including Regie Schofield, Debbie Pedersen and her granddaughters, and Crystal Clark Carico and her children.

A graveside service at the Fairmount Cemetery in Presque Isle for family and friends will be held in the spring.
