WOODLAND – Melvin D. Cote, 89, passed away on December 16, 2021 in Caribou. He was the loving husband of 70 years to Shirley (Little) Cote. Melvin was born October 11, 1932 in Caswell, the son of Jasper and Willa (Thompson) Cote of Woodland. In addition to his wife Shirley, he leaves to cherish his memory, 3 sons, Arnold (Denise) Cote, Dale (Theresa) Cote, and Dana Cote, all of CT, 4 daughters; Diana (Michael) Monti, Kathleen Carlson, Nadine (Jorge) Velez, Cindy (Michael) Ferreia all of CT; a daughter-in-law, Theresa Cote, of MO. He also leaves behind a brother, Lue (Merleen Little) Cote of CT, 3 sisters; Erlene Cheviot of Limestone, Dolores Cote and Lula Johnston of Woodland. 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. Melvin was predeceased by a sister Mona, a brother, George, 2 sons, Sheldon Cote of MO, and Luke Cote of CT, and a son-in-law, Martin Carlson of CT. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, cousins, an uncle Freeman Cote of Caribou, an Aunt Betty Robertson of KY. Friends may visit with the family at a viewing, on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at the Caribou Assembly of God Church, Sweden Street, Caribou, from 12 Noon until time of the funeral service which will be held at 1:00pm with Pastor Michael Hood officiating. A luncheon will follow after the service. Spring interment will be in the Woodland Cemetery.
