Diane B. Mcdonough

February 25, 1947 — November 7, 2021

CARIBOU - Diane B. McDonough, 74, died unexpectedly on November 7, 2021, at Caribou. She was born in Presque Isle, February 25, 1947, the daughter of the late Philip and Ruth (Cogswell) Brown.

She was a lifelong member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, where she was active in the memorial committee, the SPRC, the nominations committee, and she attended many bible studies over the years.

Diane graduated from Caribou High School in 1965, where she was voted “Class Cut Up,” a trait that she carried her entire life. She graduated from the University of Maine, Orono in 1969. She was a dedicated teacher from 1969-2004, starting her career at Damon Elementary School on Loring Air Force Base and finishing at Stockholm Elementary School.

To know Diane was to love her. She had an unmatched sense of humor and touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Diane was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister, Susan. She is survived by her loving husband Philip of 48 years, her four children Philip III (Billie), Andrew (Melissa), Mark (Kara) and Elizabeth, her grandchildren Philip McDonough IV, Brooklyn and Kylee Plummer, brothers Philip and Stephen Brown, as well as many nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly. She also leaves behind the family’s loyal, four-legged companion, Baxter.

Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Friday, November 12, 2021 from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 2pm at the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church. Following the service, all are invited for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the church dining hall.
