Matthew Sands

Matthew “Matt” Sands passed away, leaving behind family and friends who will remember him for his love of the outdoors, his adventurous spirit, and his dedication to those he loved.

Matt enjoyed four-wheeling, spending time outdoors, and took pride in keeping things clean and well cared for. He enjoyed working with his hands and had a creative, artistic side that allowed him to build, repair, and create things with care and skill. He was a proud man who wanted the best for his family and worked hard.

He is survived by his wife, Darci Sands; his daughter, Jenessa Sands; his son, Logan Johnston; his stepsons, Rylen Ruggles and Jaimen Chasse; his father, Willard “Bill” Sands; his brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Tara Prestwood; nephew Joshua Prestwood; his sister, Sandra Devine, and her fiancé, Robert Greene; and his nephews, Jacob Devine and Issac Devine. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was predeceased by his mother, Sherry Sands, and his biological father, Robert McDonald.

Matt will be remembered for his determination, his love of family, and the many memories shared with those who knew him. Though his time here was far too short, his presence and influence will remain in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
