Mary Jane Chick

CARIBOU – Mary Jane Bedell McBrine Miller Chick, 85, died March 15, 2023 at her Caribou residence following a long illness. She was born in Haynesville, December 13, 1937 the daughter of the late Judson and Dorothy (Bedell) McBrine. Mary Jane graduated from Ricker Classical Institute and the Aroostook State Teachers College. She was a beloved school teacher, an avid gardener, and a friendly cashier after retirement. She loved her family and friends dearly. She will be remembered for her kind, generous and thoughtful ways.

She is survived by three children, Rich Miller of South Portland, Seth Miller and his wife Jenny of Austin, TX, and Karen Skonieczny and her husband Steve of Caribou. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Jasmine Menzie and husband Tom of Kennebunk, Molly Wright and husband Corey of Portland, Chris Miller of Portland, and Jillien Miller of Austin, TX, two great-granddaughters, Delaney Wright of Portland and Lumen Elizabeth Menzie of Kennebunk.

Mary Jane was predeceased by her two husbands, James G. Miller, and John M. Chick, three sisters, Winnifred Carr, Judith Oliver, and Clarice Shorey, two brothers, Judson McBrine and Joseph McBrine, and one son, James Watson Miller.

Spring interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
