It is with deep love and gentle sorrow that we announce the passing of Mary Jean McGlinn, who left us peacefully on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, at the age of 76. Though she faced the world with an intellectual disability, Mary lived a life rich with joy, sincerity, and the kind of wisdom that reminds us of what truly matters.
Born in Caribou, Maine, Mary was a beloved child of Edward N. and Amy J (Greenier) McGlinn and a cherished sibling to eight of her surviving siblings and their spouses, Jackie Heath-McGlinn and Jeanine of Anchorage, AK, Steven McGlinn and Judy of Presque Isle, Paul McGlinn and Colleen of Isle of Palms, SC, Louis McGlinn and Maureen of Brewer, Andrew McGlinn and Carmen of Presque Isle, Gerald McGlinn and Kim of Mapleton, Carol McGlinn and Erica of Caribou, and Darrin McGlinn of Westbrook, many nieces and nephews.
From an early age, Mary taught those around her the value of patience, the strength of kindness, and the beauty of unconditional love.
Mary found joy in the simplest pleasures, such as listening to music, watching her favorite shows, and attending the day program offered by the Central Aroostook Association. Mary continued to remind us that every life, no matter its challenges, is meaningful and important.
Mary was predeceased by her father, Edward Nason McGlinn, and brother, John McGlinn. Mary’s family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her long-time caregiver and close friend, Carlene Madore, and most recently, Christine and Michael Lapointe, and Tina Belanger, for their excellent care and abiding love Mary received during her time with them.
Private services will be held at the family gravesite in Green Ridge Cemetery, Caribou.
