Mary Louise Willey

Caribou – Mary Louise Willey passed away April 22, 2021 peacefully at her Presque Isle residence after a very courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Mary was born in Caribou May 6, 1933 and was raised by her adoptive parents Louis and Velma (Brewer) Murphy. She graduated from Caribou High School in 1950. Mary married Loomis (Sonny) Willey on September 15, 1950 and spent the next 70 years raising their three children and building their family-owned business, Highway Tire, Inc. Mary was an instrumental part of building the business with her husband when it started in 1964, Mary and Sonny enjoyed many years of traveling and in their retirement years enjoyed their home in Florida until her illness progressed. Mary was a long-time member of the Gray Memorial Methodist Church and was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She will always be remembered for her beauty and her fashion style. She was loved by many and will be missed by all. May she rest in Peace.
Mary is survived by her husband Loomis of 70 years, her three children and spouses, Alan and Charlotte Willey, Tammy and Ken Albert and Scott and Cecile Willey, all of Caribou. Six grandchildren, Tiffany and Ken Vencile of Nobleboro, Krystal Willey of Scarborough, Ginny and Ryan Corrigan of Caribou, John and Veronica Albert of Caribou, Nicholas Willey and fiancé Elizabeth Dunn of Windham and Tyler Willey of Windham. Four great-grandchildren, Autumn Vencile, Owen, Quinn and Lydia Corrigan, all of whom Mary adored. Mary was predeceased by her adoptive brothers Harry, Ralph and Peter Murphy, and brother-in-law and wife Philip and Vivian Willey.
The family would like to express their heartful appreciation to the staff of Leisure Village who cared for her the last eight years and became her extended family. A special thank you to staff member Jerry Sinclair for singing Amazing Grace to our mother, as she passed away. To Mockler Funeral Home and Louise Brescia, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, there will be no services at this time. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
