Caribou, - Mary Elizabeth (Carnazza) Mowatt of Caribou, formerly of Worcester, a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend was called to God on Tuesday, May 15th 2012. Mary leaves behind her cherished family; her 2 adoring sons Eric and Ian Mowatt, both of Caribou, ME, her husband Wayne Mowatt also of Caribou. Mary also leaves her mother Anne Marie (Carnazza) Lynch and her husband Bill of Spencer, MA, 4 brothers, Joseph Carnazza and his wife Paula of Montclair, NJ, Stephen Carnazza and his wife Susan of Marion, MA, John Carnazza and his wife Steffanie of Spencer, MA, James Carnazza and his wife Cory of Holden, MA, an uncle and many nieces and nephews. Mary is predeceased by her father Paul J. Carnazza of Worcester, 2 sisters Susan and Anne Marie, and a brother Paul Carnazza. Mary grew up in Worcester and was educated in the Catholic schools. She was a graduate of Marion High School, Worcester. Mary attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, graduating with a Bachelors degree in special education. Mary attended the McGill University School for the Deaf, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Mary moved to northern Maine and received a second Master's degree in education. Mary developed programs for disabled children at the Helen P. Knight School in Caribou. She also became an English teacher and school principal at Easton Schools. Most notable of Mary's career is her work as a Psychological Evaluator for surrounding Aroostook County School Districts and her tireless work with children with disabilities. Mary's favorite times were spent in her homes in Camden, ME, strolling to the harbor and at Carabassett Valley, ME both by the river and on Sugarloaf Mountain. Mary's kindness and generosity will be deeply missed. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial mass celebrating Mary's life on June 7th at St. Johns in Worcester, Mass.
