Martha Mary Hardison, age 74, passed away on September 14, 2026, in Caribou surrounded by family following a brief illness. She was born in Caribou on December 18, 1951, to Elwood and Elizabeth (Langley) Gallagher.

Martha is survived by her husband of over 46 years, Roger Hardison of Caribou; her children, Scott Hardison and Jennifer Carrier of Caribou; and a son-in-law, David Carrier, of Caribou. She is survived by 6 grandchildren: Anna, Samantha, Madilyn, Gillian, Ian, and Norah Carrier, all from Caribou. She is also survived by her siblings, Elwood Gallagher and wife Becky of Algonquin, IL; Richard Gallagher and wife Betty Jean of Caribou; Susan Cutchin of Rindge, NH; Jeff Gallagher, Ronnie Gallagher and wife Angela, all from Caribou, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and by a brother-in-law, Bob Cutchin.

Martha was a 1970 graduate of Caribou High School and worked as a bank teller at Aroostook Federal Savings and Loan for many years as well as a Teacher Aide for ACAP. She also delivered food boxes for Catholic Charities. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, with a motto of “family first.” She loved chatting and spending time with her family and friends as well as taking care of her pets. Gardening organically was important to her; it was a favorite pastime. She touched the hearts of many, either with a smile or extending a helping hand, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
