WOODLAND - Mark L. Parks, 69 died September 22, 2023 in Caribou, following a period of declining health. He was born in Bridgewater December 7, 1953, son of the late Evan and Alice (Lilley) Parks. Mark was a graduate of Central Aroostook High School and received his associate degree in auto mechanics from Northern Maine Technical College. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Northern Maine Community College for a number of years, where he also taught the commercial driver class as well. Mark enjoyed exploring the outdoors with his sidekick Harley and spending time with his family and friends. He loved sharing stories about racing his 1964 Mercury Comet at the Winterport Dragway. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Alward of Woodland. Two grandchildren, Evan Alward and Liyla Mae Parks. His siblings; Max Parks of Bridgewater, Michael Parks of Florida, Milan Parks of Nevada, Margaret Welch of Massachusetts, Marie Bell and Marsha Kearney both of Mars Hill. Many nieces and nephews. Mr. Parks was predeceased by a brother Paul Parks, a sister Maxine Anderson, two sons Evan and Markie Parks and son in law SFC Daniel Alward. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 9AM until time of services which will be held at 10AM at the chapel of the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Private interment will take place in the Woodland Cemetery at a later date.
