Mae L. Skidgel

April 2, 1920 — January 8, 2011

Caribou-Mae L Skidgel 90, died January 8, 2011 at Caribou. She was born in Perham April 2, 1920 the daughter of the late George and Cordelia (Twist) Wilcox. Mrs. Skidgel was employed at Taterstate Foods in Washburn for a number of years. She was a lifelong member of the North Star Pentecostal Church where she became the church organist at the age of twelve. Mae was predeceased b her husband of over 60 years, Harley Kenneth Skidgel in 2006, her daughter Carla Skidgel and two grandsons; Henry Hartsgrove and Kendall Harley Skidgel II. She is survived by her two sons and daughters in law, Mayland and Patricia Hartsgrove and Kendall and Jodi Skidgel all of Presque Isle. Four daughters and three sons in law; Sharon and Maynard Curtis of Storrs, Ct., Virginia Liotonne of Connor, Georgia Mae and Vernon Grantham of Somerset, PA. and Elizabeth and Cleve Maynard of Perham. One brother Rev. Eldon Wilcox of Caribou. Twenty eight grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Tuesday. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday January 12, 2011 from the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Blakney, officiating. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
