Lorina Teresa Violette

October 21, 1932 — February 4, 2020

Guerette and Caribou – Lorina Teresa Violette 87, died February 4, 2020 at a Caribou health facility following a long illness with Alzheimers. She was born in Guerette, October 21, 1932, the daughter of the late Hubald and Yvonne (Dionne) Fisher. Having been diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 14, she was required to spend three years at the Portland Children's Hospital. There she became very close to some special nurses and her dream was to become a nurse and to care for others. Although that dream was not brought to fruition, Lorina was a caregiver to everyone who was in need. She was the one who would cook meals, bake bread, try her special desserts just to bring a smile to someone's face. Upon her return home she met and married Guy Freeland Violette who predeceased her in 1991. She was a loving and very devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Throughout her life, her faith in God always came first.

Mrs. Violette was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by a daughter Judy St.Peter and husband Richard of Caribou, a son Guy Philip Violette of Colorado, and a daughter Anne Marie Lagasse and husband Steve of Caribou, one sister Rita Hebert of Auburn, her grandchildren Jennifer Michaud and husband Travis, Jeffery St. Peter, Erin Huntington and husband Ryan, Craig Violette and wife Crystal, Blake Lagasse and his significant other Stephanie Libby, great-grandchildren, Maryn Michaud, Vivienne and Blythe Huntington, Alex and Norma Violette, and several nieces and nephews. Lorina was predeceased by several sisters and brothers. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Friday, February 7, 2020 from 10 am until time of service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am from Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Following the service all are invited for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish center. Spring interment will be in the Guerette Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff at the Caribou Rehab & Nursing Home for their compassion and tenderness that was shown to our mom, especially during the last 6 days of her life in hospice at the nursing home. Marilyn, Mary, and Cindy are angels of love, kindness and unbelievable compassion. Haley you have amazed our family with the genuine care and attention you gave our mom throughout her stay there. You are to be highly commended for the love you gave our mother. Lorina lived a life of love and faith and gave of herself to so many, yet expected nothing in return. We ask that in lieu of flowers, let us begin to change the world for the better by turning humble prayer to God and do something loving for those in need.

"The fruit of prayer is faith, the fruit of faith is love, the fruit of love is service, and the fruit of service is peace." ~ Mother Teresa
