Caribou-Richard O. “Dick” Learnard, 89, passed away peacefully October 2, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born February 21, 1929 in Caribou, son of the late Herbert Sr. and Pauline (McFarland) Learnard. Dick was employed for over 40 years as a potato inspector for the Maine Dept. of Agriculture. He served his country with pride as a Korean War Veteran. He was also a member of the VFW-Post 9389 and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his loving children Richard “Dickie” Learnard (wife Twyla), Ann Beaulier (husband Michael), and special grandson Bryant Beaulier all of Caribou, brothers Herbert Jr. “June” Learnard of Van Buren, Carroll Learnard of Monroe, CT, sisters Mavis Bouchard of Van Buren, Joyce Violette of Caribou, Linda Corbin of Madawaska, Donna Saggese of Limestone, and Edna Giannelis of Wilmington, NC. In addition to his parents, Dick was predeceased by his loving wife Arlene (Parent), brother Bob Learnard and sister Helen Barker. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, Friday, October 5, 2018, 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Rosser officiating. Interment will be at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, 37 Lombard Rd. Caribou.
