Larry Leigh Ward, 73, died May 2, 2026 at his Woodland residence following a period of declining health. He was born in Caribou, December 20, 1952 as the son of Reginald and Arlene (Brown) Ward. Larry attended Limestone and Woodland schools, and was a graduate of Caribou High School. He married Alexis Lindgren on July 27, 1972. Larry retired as a Maine State Potato Inspector for 30 years. Larry enjoyed his four-wheeler, hanging out in his man cave, working harvest for Moir Farms, and going to East Grand Lake with his buddies. He was a great man who always had a smile on his face and a joke to make you laugh.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Alexis Ward, of Woodland, are his mother Arlene Ward of Presque Isle, daughter Erin and husband Richard McShea of Fort Fairfield, brother M. Jeffrey Ward of Bangor, sister Karyn Knights and husband Rodney Jr. of Leesburg, FL, grandchildren Sydney McShea and fiancé Ian McLean, Sarah McShea and significant other Zachary Reynolds, step-great-grandchildren Chloe and Daniel McLean, and many nieces and nephews. Larry had a special place in his heart for his buddies Deb Best, Clarence Espling, Carl and Christine Bondeson, Adrian Fraser, Hayward Ames, Cathy and Walter Osgood, Ronnie Jandreau, Dorothy Estabrook, the Moir Family, and so many more. Mr. Ward was predeceased by his father and a brother-in-law, Richard Elias.

The family extends a special thank-you to the Jefferson Cary Cancer Care Center, Northern Light Hospice, and the Aroostook House of Comfort – especially Dr. Djuanda, Dr. Vejia, Dr. Isfahanian, and Dr. Flynn for the excellent care Larry received these past few months. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou from 6 PM until 8 PM.
