CARIBOU – Kimberley D. Austin, 47, passed away unexpectedly March 17, 2017 at her Caribou residence. She was born in Owensboro, Kentucky, January 2, 1970 the daughter of Larry and Joyce (Harris) Whorley. Kimberley was a graduate of Owensboro High School and then earned her Ed. S., Specialist in Education, in School Psychology from Western Kentucky University. She was employed as a school psychologist by the RSU 39 school department for many years. She married Steven Austin, April 1, 2000. Kim was active with the Girl Scouts when her girls were younger, and was an avid animal lover. Kim had many passions in life, her friends and family were all loved dearly but none more so than her three children. Her love of books and avid reading even prompted her to start her very own Little Free Library. She spent many wonderful hours in her beautiful perennialgarden. She was well known for her culinary skills and was always quick to make a meal for someone in need. Kim had a gift for working with students and their families. She was loved by many and will be sorrowly missed. Kimberley was predeceased by her mother, Joyce, in 2000. Surviving in addition to her husband, Steven, of Caribou, are her father, Larry, of Georgia, her three beloved children, Emily, Olivia, and Ryan Austin all of Caribou, two sisters, Monica Horn of Florida, Cynthia Whorley Johnson of Indiana, a brother, Virgil Whorley of Kentucky, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carol and Larry Austin of Caribou, her brother-in-law, Jared Austin of Rangely, a very special family friend, Chris Rines of Houlton, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 2 to 4pm Wednesday, March 22, 2017, where funeral services will be held at 4pm with Pastor Robbie Jalbert officiating. Interment will take place at a later date in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Kentucky.
