Kenneth A. Wyman

January 30, 1937 — September 5, 2021

CARIBOU - Kenneth A. Wyman, 84, passed from this life and went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2021.  He was born on January 30, 1937 in Caribou, the son of Roy J. and Jennie (McCarty) Wyman.  He graduated from Caribou High School in 1954, joined the United States Army shortly thereafter, and served in the US Army Reserve.  Ken married Marilyn J. Cyr on July 27, 1963, and together the two devoted a lifetime to one another, their family and their church.

Ken was a career educator, and enjoyed history and sports.  For more than 30 years, he combined his interests and teaching skills at Limestone High School, where he taught US history and coached Girls’ Varsity Softball for several seasons.  After retiring from the Limestone school district, he devoted several wonderful years to enriching the lives of his beloved children and grandchildren.

Ken’s grandchildren affectionately knew him as “Bapa”, and his storytelling, sense of humor, and encouragement will be missed by all of them.  He was a member of the Celebration Center in Fort Fairfield, where he faithfully supported the church, and will be long-remembered as a fine example of commitment, consistency, and Christian living.

Ken is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of Caribou; daughter Denise Glidden, her husband, Stephen, of Midlothian, Virginia; daughter Jennifer Bushhouse, her husband, Steven, of Quinton, Virginia; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He also is survived by his siblings, John and Mary, of Caribou, Linda of Pennsylvania, and Vaughan and Gary of Florida.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several brothers and sisters.

Ken’s life will be celebrated at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield, on Friday, September 10, at 2:00 pm, with Reverend Mark Babin officiating.  Private interment at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Caribou will occur on a later date.
