It is with great sadness that Stockholm has lost another resident, Kathleen Lausier, who passed away at 4:56 PM on January 23, 2026. Born on March 4, 1944, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the eighth child of Joseph and Elizabeth Holtgrefe. Kathleen was predeceased by six siblings: Larry, Beatrice, Clete, Esther, Alberta, and Toni. She is survived by her brother Leo of South Carolina. Kathleen was a graduate of Seton High School in Cincinnati, an all-girl college-preparatory school and a member of the Sisters of Charity. After a four-year career as a nun, she left the convent and taught school for two years in the roughest section of Cincinnati. Kathleen truly enjoyed her short-lived teaching career. She then became a receptionist for three orthopedic surgeons in Cincinnati. One year she vacationed “way up there” in Northern Maine and met the love of her life, They married in 1973. Kathleen then worked at Potato Service for a few years in the billing department. She moved on from there to take a part time position as Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Stockholm. She then transitioned to the Town of New Sweden as their full time Clerk/Treasurer. After 23 years of municipal work, she retired to her homelife with her loving husband and their golden retriever, Maggie. The simple life was not always easy, but we found plenty of time for some good laughs. We will be together again when our ashes are scattered over our dog's gravesite... ” Rest in Peace” my love...."Repose en Paix”... “Ruhe in Frieden”.
