Katherine Doody

September 21, 1947 — February 14, 2021

Caribou and Waterville-Katherine Doody, 73 passed away peacefully February 14, 2021 at Woodland Senior Living in Waterville. She was born in Caribou September 21, 1947 the daughter of the late Glenwood and Elenor (McPhee) Doody. Kathy was a 1965 graduate of Caribou High School. After graduating, she moved to Connecticut but soon returned, deciding life in the fast lane wasn’t for her. She accepted a position with the Caribou School Department where she dedicated the next 38 years of employment to the school system. She then decided to retire and stay at home to care for her ailing mother. Kathy enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and taking photographs of her garden flowers. She truly loved spending Sunday afternoons with her family at their Madawaska Lake camp. She was a lifetime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, children’s church and participated in many mission activities. Born the youngest of eleven children, Kathy is survived by two sisters; Bertha (Arlene) McClure of Georgia and Geraldine Langdon of Ohio. Two brothers; Dale Doody of Connecticut and Vaughn Doody of Nevada. Many nieces and nephews and a special friend Eileen Ennis of Bangor. Kathy was predeceased by siblings Josephine Rockwell, Emily Lloyd, Ethel Belmain, Elwin, Glenwood and Richard Doody. The family would like to thank Megan Bolduc,PA of Oakland Family Medical and the entire staff at Woodland Senior Living Memory care unit for their loving care given to Kathy during her three year stay. She truly felt at home. Also, a special thank you to Beacon Hospice of Augusta. A family graveside service will be held at the Washburn Cemetery in the spring.
