Kenneth D. Doody

CARIBOU – Kenneth Dale Doody, 94, well known area businessman, died January 12, 2022 at the Aroostook House of Comfort in Presque Isle. He was born in Caribou, March 8, 1927 the son of the late Ray and Leta (McDougal) Doody. Mr. Doody attended Caribou Schools, and served with the US Army during World War II. He married Elsie Wheeler on January 8, 1962. Mr. Doody owned and operated the Melody Roller Rink in Caribou for over 50 years – many will remember learning to skate from him. He was a member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, the Lister-Knowlton Post 9389 V.F.W., and was a former member of the Caribou Kiwanis Club. Ken was an avid fisherman, and also enjoyed making others smile with his wit and magic. Surviving in addition to his wife of over 60 years, Elsie, of Caribou, are 4 sons, Gary Doody and wife Linda Cataldo of Poinciana, Fl, David Doody of Caribou, Kevin Doody and wife Angel Alexander of North Las Vegas, NV, Brian Doody and wife Tabitha of Caribou, his grandchildren, Carson, Cameron, Kate, Jack, Danielle, and Wyatt Doody, Nicole Rainey, Tanner McHattie, and Lauren Edgar. Special other “family” members, Patricia Wood, Beth and Steve Boddy, Hannah and Jonathon, Stacey and Kevin Baker, Alex, Lorelai and Amelia, very special friends, Jim and Bonnie Topping, Jim and Sandy Burton and daughters, and Mimi Burton, several nieces and nephews. Friends may call 6-8pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou. Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timothy Wilcox, officiating. Following the services all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the Lister-Knowlton V.F.W. Post 9389. Interment will be in East Leverett, Massachusetts.
