CARIBOU – Judith Anne Snell, 60, passed away unexpectedly April 13, 2020 at her Caribou residence. She was born in Caribou, March 18, 1960, the daughter of Adeodat “Eddie” and Lottie (Guerrette) Belanger. Judy attended Holy Rosary Parochial School, and was a Caribou High School Class of 1979 graduate. On July 26, 1980 she married, Donald Snell, and together they shared nearly 40 years of marriage. Judy worked for the Caribou School Department as an Ed Tech for 30 years, and was loved by both teachers and students. She was a lifelong devoted member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was a part of the Parish of the Precious Blood Prayer Shawl ministry, and the Beth Moore Bible Study – she loved to go to church, read her bible, and was a faithful sister in Christ to many other women. Judy never liked to stay idle, and enjoyed making beautiful items for the people she cared about. She loved to sew, knit, crochet, paint, and garden. She made especially beautiful quilts and costumes for her grandchildren and others. Don would often make wooden projects for their grandchildren, son, and Youth Ministry Students, and Judy would paint them to make them a very special keepsake for everyone who received them. She would do anything for anyone, and lived for her son and grandchildren; never having enough time with them. Most of all, Judy, affectionately known as ”Ju-Ju” to many family members, will be remembered for her big heart, and as a woman who loved God, her son, grandchildren and her family.
Judy is survived by her husband, Donald, of Caribou, one son, Travis Snell of Orrington, her two beloved grandchildren, Sarah and Cameron Snell both of Orrington, brothers, Hector Belanger and wife Sheree of Woodland and Mike Belanger and wife Tammy of Caribou, sisters, Muriel Hartley and husband Ken of Caribou, and Carolyn Parent of CT, special sisters and brothers-in-law, Doug and Cindy Snell of NH, and Mark and Jackie Shaw of Mapleton, 8 nieces, 6 nephews, and many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three siblings, Gary Belanger, Galen Belanger, and Pauline Belanger Woods.
Friends are invited to a vehicle visitation on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the Teague Park School from 12:30pm until 1:30pm, where friends and family may take a moment to pause to show their support to the Snell family and pay their respects to Judy. Interment will take place later in the spring in the New Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery. Friends who wish to contribute in memory of Judy may do so through the Parish of the Precious Blood Memorial Fund or the Parish Feed the Hungry Fund – PO Box 625, Caribou, ME 04736.
