Jerry M. Stedt

CARIBOU - Jerry Maynard Stedt, 70, passed away at his home in Caribou on Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born in Caribou on September 5, 1953, the son of Maynard and Maxine (Beaulier) Stedt. He grew up on the family farm in Woodland, ME. He learned the value of work, while tending to the animals and planting and harvesting potatoes. He graduated from Caribou High School, served in the Navy and graduated from Southern Maine Vocational College. He worked hard his entire life in the service industry as a chef in local small and large restaurants. He was also a Teamster Union member for local charter # 340. Jerry is survived by his daughter Jeri, son in law Geoff McKinney and their children Molly and Mia of Colorado; grandson Benjamin Stedt of Harpswell; and grandchildren Zach and Sara Hansen. He is also survived by his wife Elaine Warner-Stedt of Topsham and her children as well as his brothers and their families; Robert and Susan Stedt of New Sweden and Michael and Irma Stedt of El Paso, TX. He was predeceased by his daughter Jessica Stedt and his parents. Jerry enjoyed sunny days in Maine and football season with his beloved New England Patriots. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July, 27, 2024 in New Sweden.
