Jeffrey P. Cochran, 71, died June 7, 2026 at his Caribou residence. He was born in Caribou, August 14, 1954 the son of the late Clyde and Cora (Dickinson) Cochran. Jeff was a graduate of Caribou High School. Following high school, he was employed by Gould and Smith in Presque Isle. During this time, he married the love of his life Sandy. After marrying, he realized his passion was driving trailer truck. He spent many years on the road as a truck driver known to many by the handle “Brat.”, as he drove for R.F. Chamberland. Following his years trucking, he worked for Ayer Potato Farms. He loved working for the Ayer’s and getting to drive a Peterbilt again. Jeff enjoyed watching Nascar, westerns and any car shows. He was a devoted family man who especially enjoyed attending his son and grandchildren’s events - both big and small.
Jeffrey spent countless hours with his son Chad. When going places people would often say Chad was his "shadow", they did everything together. They spent time together watching Braves games and instilling the love of baseball in his family as well as time spent riding ATV's and snowmobiles. He was a "jack of all trades" he was a mechanic, carpenter and sometimes a plumber if needed. He was also a chef, teaching his son how to make his famous "BBQ chicken". Jeffrey was also a coach in little league which he greatly enjoyed. He also loved to grow a garden every year and couldn’t wait for some new potatoes. He did not find value in monetary things but cherished the love of his family.
He is survived by his son, Chad Cochran and wife Erika of Caribou, beloved grandchildren, Bailey and Chase Cochran, four siblings, Coralie Skidgel of Woodland, Greta Madore of New York, Doris Orser of Pennsylvania, and Graydon Cochran of Buxton. Jeff was predeceased by his wife, Sandy (Lagasse) Cochran, and six siblings, Maxine, Arnold, Betty, Marilyn, Geraldine and David as well as a special nephew Scott Cochran.
