Caribou James Allen Thomas, 60, died unexpectedly June 10, 2024 at a Portland hospital. He was born in Caribou June 18, 1963 the son of David and Mariel (Espling) Thomas. He was a 1982 graduate of Caribou High School and was a lifetime member of the Caribou United Baptist Church. He married Nora Blevins July 19, 2003. James was employed in sales with Fastenal and Broadway Electric and more recently was employed at Caribou Hannaford. Jim enjoyed spending time in the forest, milling lumber and woodworking. He also volunteered as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader for several years Surviving in addition to his wife Nora and his mother and stepfather Mariel (Espling Thomas) and Dwight Stickles all of Caribou are two daughters, Danielle Piatte and husband Jason Piatte of South Carolina and Desirae Beaulier of Connecticut. Two step daughters, Allison Murray of Florida and Andrea Beaulieu of Fort Fairfield. One brother and sister in law Kurt and Donna Thomas of Woodland and one sister and brother in law Lori and Tim Tassinari of New York. Two grandchildren, Demari Thomas and Nadri Charles, several nieces and nephews. James was predeceased by his father David. Friends may call at the Mockler Funeral Home 24 Reservoir Street Caribou 6-8 pm Saturday. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday June 16, 2024 from the Caribou United Baptist Church with Pastors Michael Sullivan and Troy Heald officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
