Iva Deveau

August 18, 1922 — November 15, 2017

Caribou-Iva A. Deveau, 95, wife of the late Gerald Deveau, passed away November 15, 2017 at her daughters Caribou residence. She was born in Caribou August 18, 1922 the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Cunningham) Gahagan. She was a graduate of Caribou High School and was employed as the store accountant at J.C. Penney in Caribou for many years. She married Gerald Deveau August 10, 1947 and he predeceased her in 2001. Mrs. Deveau was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She was also a longtime, active member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons and daughters in law; Peter and Tina Deveau and David and Peggy Deveau all of Caribou and Timothy and Julie Deveau of Merrill, WS. One daughter, Cheryl Sue Olmstead and her companion Robert Deering of Caribou. Her grandchildren, Kenzy, Aaron, Heather, Seante, Wendy, Deak Maddie ,Maggie and Sarah. Ten great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Deveau was predeceased by three brothers, Albert, Jack and Arnold Gahagan and five sisters; Evengelan Gahagan, Pauline Buxton, Eva Burr, Dot Bouchard and Ruth Gahagan.Special Thanks to Megan Skidgel caregiver, Glenna Searles special friend and VNA Hospice workers. A celebration of Iva’s life will be held in the summer of 2018. Interment will be in the Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery.
