CARIBOU – Ronald G. Houston, 90, passed away November 20, 2019 at Caribou. He was born September 15, 1929 in New Haven, CT, the son of Edward and Ruby (Mansfield) Houston. Mr. Houston was a retired Maine State Trooper. Ronald enjoyed being in the outdoors – especially traveling with his wife, Viva, and skiing. One of their favorite destinations was Alaska, and he talked about the good times and beautiful things they saw often. Ronald is survived by one daughter, Julie A. Houston Outing and husband, Henry R. Outing of Caribou, three grandchildren, Madison K. of Presque Isle and Morgan E. Outing of the Portland area, and Paul Thomas Crews, Jr. of Enumclaw, WA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Viva E. (Berry) Houston in 2016, one sister, Mrs. Wallace (Ruth) Pomroy, five brothers, Richard, Raymond, Robert, Randall and David, one daughter, Brenda Lee Houston Crews, and one granddaughter, Elizabeth M. “Beth” Crews. Per Ronald’s request there will be no funeral services. Those who wish to contribute in his memory may do so through a charity of one’s choice.
