Paul Hanson Jr.

July 26, 1957 — November 27, 2020

CARIBOU- Paul J. Hanson Jr. 63, passed away on Friday, November 27, 2020, in Bangor, following a brief illness. Paul “JR” was born on Friday, July 26, 1957 and is the second child born to Paul J. and Jeanette A. (Stairs) Hanson Sr.
 
He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School, and was a graduate of the Caribou High School Class of 1975. His life adventures and accomplishments were many. One of his biggest achievements was his involvement in the food and beverage industry. He began his career as a civil servant of 24+ years at the Officers Club at LAFB, Limestone, Maine. His career continued with Brunswick Naval Shipyard, Point Sebago Golf Course and Resort, Hilton Garden Inn Freeport, Limestone Country Club and most recently, Mars Hill Nursing Home. In addition to the food industry, his interests included being a 4th degree member of the Fred V. Brescia Post 1870 Knights of Columbus and a Miss America Sponsor and Judge. He was most happy when surrounded by family and friends. 
 
Paul is survived by his mother, Jeanette, of Caribou. His son, Shawn and wife Becky (Palmer) Bugbee, of Mapleton. Brothers and sisters, Karla Hanson of Caribou, Peter Hanson and wife Karen, of South Portland, Brenda Keaton and husband Vaughn, of Caribou, Michael Hanson, of Portland, Dana Hanson, of Portland, Jennifer Beaupre and Husband Jerry of Caribou and sister-in-law Michelle Hanson of Caribou, a grandson Brennan Bugbee, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Hanson was Predeceased by his father Paul Sr in 1993; a niece, Kristen Havens in 2009; and a brother, Ralph in 2012.
 
Due to the current pandemic, funeral and interment will take place in the spring 2021.
