Gregory Clifton Ricker, 72, of Presque Isle, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on July 14, 2026.
Greg was born on June 29, 1954, to Clifton and Mary Ricker, who preceded him in death.
On May 4, 1974, Greg married the love of his life, Reta (Paul). Together they built a beautiful life over 51 years of marriage, raising a family rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Greg was a faithful and loving caregiver for Reta throughout her recent cancer battle. He faced the months following her passing on September 28, 2025 with quiet strength. Though his heart missed her every day, he continued putting one foot in front of the other.
Greg spent his entire career working in the lumber mill, beginning when it was known as Pinkham Lumber and remaining through its many name changes over the years. He worked hard every day to provide for his family, and those who loved him will always remember the familiar, sweet scent of sawdust that came home with him after every shift.
The word most often used to describe Greg was kind. He had a gentle soul, an easy smile, and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and was often the first one on the dance floor whenever there was music. He never sought the spotlight, but his quiet presence, unexpected wit, and unwavering love for his family left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Being “Grampy” was one of Greg’s greatest joys. He proudly wore his Bowdoin Grandpa hat, celebrated every accomplishment, and treasured every moment spent with his grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his son, Sam Ricker and his wife, Debi, of Connor; his daughter, Megan Shea and her husband, Mark, of Presque Isle; and his cherished grandchildren, George and Jake Ricker, and Brady and Emerson Miller.
While they will miss him dearly, his family finds comfort in imagining Greg and Reta reunited, hand in hand, with Greg leading the way onto heaven’s biggest dance floor—right where he always loved to be.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during calling hours at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou on Wednesday, July 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
